Interactive science experiment demonstrator (TY students)

Activity: Other activityCommunity and public engagement

Description

Tyndall organized a Taster Afternoon for Transition Year students, featuring interactive science demonstrations. I led a demonstration showing how light can be used for free-space communication, using a kit (Tyndall EPE team provided the kit) that converts sound to light, which travels across the room to a receiver. I explained the physics behind the experiment and connected it to real-life applications such as remote controls, satellite communication, and car key fobs. The students enjoyed seeing physics in action in everyday devices. Through this experience, I enhanced my ability to explain complex science concepts and strengthened my public science communication skills.
