Description
I created and delivered 32 SDGs workshops for the UCC research community as part of UCC's strategic priority to map university research onto the SDGs.The main aims of the workshops were:
- To raise general awareness of the SDGs and the benefits of the SDGs as a framework for demonstrating real-world research impact.
- To inform researchers about the benefits of aligning their research with the SDGs e.g. grant competitiveness, as a common language to collaborate.
- To involve researchers directly in mapping their research onto the SDGs using a specially-developed Microsoft Forms based tool.
- To provide a forum for open discussion about the SDGs in research.
477 UCC researchers attended the workshops during summer 2022 and a total of 497 researchers mapped their own research onto the SDGs.
