Researchers’ Night: Rethinking nightshift cities after dark, an event part of the PeopleFest organised by Julius-Cezar MacQuarie, under the umbrella of The Association of Social Anthropologists of the UK (ASA) holding its first anthropology festival in Manchester, 5-7 April 2024.PeopleFest: Public Anthropology Festival 2024 is designed to celebrate anthropology and to encourage more people to be curious about work in this field, and to appreciate what social anthropology can bring to the world. The annual ASA Firth Lecture will take place alongside the festival, and ASA networks are encouraged to bring their annual meetings to Manchester as well.
This new festival will be inaugurated along with a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Social Anthropology department at the University of Manchester, from which our fantastic Anthropology, Creative Practice and Ethnography book series emerged .
