Playing Politics: Historical Board Games as Procedural Models of International Relations Theory and Decision-Making

Description

This paper argues that such games can be understood as procedural models of International Relations (IR) theories and decision-making frameworks. Through rules, victory conditions, and representations of agency, they operationalise competing explanations of how states behave and how political actors make strategic choices.
