Description
We organized a science tour to Tyndall National Institute, Ireland for a group of girls from a regional school at Cork, Ireland. The goal of the program was to encourage and support young women in science. We welcomed 18 Transition Year students (aged ~16 years) and 1 teacher from Ursuline Secondary School, Cork, Ireland, coordinated through Teen-Turn (https://teen-turn.com/). This was a collaborative effort between the Tyndall National Institute, OPTICA & SPIE Student Chapter Tyndall National Institute (UCC), Teen-Turn, and funding support from I'm a Scientist, Get me out of here.
