The WIL CoP showcase event presenters shared a wide range and variety of WIL projects.Grainne North, Career Services Employer Partnership Forum
Employer at scale project to connect with employers, educate as to student interests, multi sectoral and multi-size. Collaborative and co-creating learning between employers present. Regeneron – increase student applications from job spec advice from first partnership forum – tangible output from employers working together on making student placements more student led and accessible.
Asked the CoP WIL for ideas/themes to enable larger SATLE funding application and/or how to leverage the employer partnership forum to match larger funding.

Noted the ecosystem for ID+ placements. Project funded since 2020(?). Programme involves employer workshops, employer site visits, simulations with participants working with actors in scenarios, visual schedules using AssistVi.
Accessible Documentation on H&S and employer contracts is available for students to understand what the documentation is about
ID_ project has expert advisory board with participants from business, ETB, hospitality sectors amongst others.
Business mentor training, programme available, lunch and learn sessions with employers on ID+, fortnightly check-in sessions with BM as well as students.
Ruth McCarthy, Pharmacy. Highlighting the Graduate Futures Institute application for Academic Employability award – very straight forward application form and would encourage others to apply.
25 26 1st year that pharmacy has core competency framework. Students have to work through the template to get to top level to practice pharmacy. School works through pharmacy trainers to help the students achieve the required level / competencies. 25 26 Move to scenario-based student work with the trainer scoring student. Goal to get trainer to deep dive to enable the student to best prepare to pass the exams/competency framework. Ruth notes the pharmacy programmes work together on this programme with APPEL office.
Clodagh Kerr, Dug Cubie, Project Willow. funded for 1 year pilot. project assistant hired, SharePoint created for student information, seed funding contributes to employer sites/employer in the classroom. pathway content created for students for information, job descriptions for various law pathways, CV writing, linking in with tools on CS website.
15 students registered on site as of this date. Plan to get more employers involved in the sharepoint going forward
