Organisation Overview
Cancer is one of the most urgent health challenges worldwide, demanding innovative strategies to reduce its impact and improve patient outcomes. Cancer Research @UCC is committed to transforming cancer care through cutting-edge science, clinical collaboration, and patient-focused research.
Our 1600m2 translational cancer research complex situated in the Western Gateway Building, University College Cork, is home to both laboratory-based and clinician scientists. The centre is also the academic home for the HRB-funded UCC Cancer Trials Group, which spans clinical trials units across the region; providing access to cutting edge cancer clinical trials in the South of Ireland.
As Ireland’s leading cancer research centre bridging academia and healthcare, we ensure rapid translation of research into clinical practice, guided by patient perspectives at every stage. Our vision is to accelerate the development of next-generation treatments, diagnostics and supportive care interventions; by uniting expertise across disciplines and ensuring discoveries move swiftly from bench to bedside.
