Biography

Dr Aileen Murphy is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics and is Programme Director of the Diplomas in Business & Financial Economics/Business Economics and Financial Economics. She is also Programme Director for the MSc Healthcare Leadership. She currently teaches health economics at postgraduate level, principles of economics on the BA programme and on the dedicated programme for Chinese students the BSc Business and Financial Economics. Aileen is a graduate of University College Cork (BComm, MEconSc) and completed her PhD at the University of Glasgow. Her research interests include health economics, economic evaluations, Health Technology Assessment and the economics of smoking. Aileen is also Chair of the Careers Committee and member of the Graduate Studies Committee in the School and supervises postgraduate students.

Her research interests include health economics, economic evaluations, Health Technology Assessment, value of information analysis and the economics of smoking.
