- Monoclonal antibody production, purification and characterisation - Cell-based antibody potency assays - Mitochondrial function - Cell metabolism and bioenergetics in normoxia and hypoxia - Calcium signalling - Cancer cell metabolism, effects of oncometabolites of mitochondrial function and epigenetics Ischemia, - HIF signalling, HIF-independent responses to hypoxia and metabolic stress (APMK, translation remodelling) - Development of phosphorescence-based techniques for O2 imaging in cells, spheroids and living tissues - Monitoring and modelling of cell oxygenation and O2 gradients in (patho)-physiological conditions - Confocal and 2-photon fluorescent microscopy, live cell / tissue imaging

Teaching Activities

My teaching skills and interests include: - Designing, delivering and examining classes for Industrial Pharmaceutical Sciences, Operations and Management, MSc students - Designing and supervising MRes student projects in Industrial Pharmaceutics- Delivering classes and workshops for undergraduate Biochemistry students- Supervising 4th year, MSc, MRes and PhD student projects in Biochemistry, Chemistry of Pharmaceutical Compounds, Genetics and Biotechnology- Delivering training to researchers from the Schools of Pharmacy, Biochemistry & Cell Biology, and Pharmacology in tissue culture, microscopy, chromatography, electrophoresis, FACS, and other techniques- Teaching a lecture module ‘Cell and Molecular Biology’ for MSc students - Serving as an external examiner for MRes projects
