Biography

Educated at St Kieran’s College, Kilkenny, University College, Cork, University of Sussex, Irish Management Institute, IBM Education and Training, London, Global Knowledge Network, Dublin. First ECTS Outgoing Student from UCC, 1989. Completed MA on British Foreign Policy, 1991; Ph D modern Irish Financial History, 1996. At various times worked for NatWest Stockbrokers, London, JP Morgan (London), Technical Support Manager for the US Consumer Account for IBM Corp, and as HEA Researcher, UCC. Currently teaches history at UCC.

Research Interests

My research interests are twentieth century Irish history generally, concentrating on financial and administrative history, the economic modernisation of Ireland in 1960s, but also include Irish public health.
