Personal profile
Biography
Having studied mathematics as an undergraduate at Darmstadt University of Technology, I completed a PhD in philosophy at the London School of Economics (LSE). Before joining UCC, I did postdoctoral work in Bristol, Calgary, Munich and Salzburg.
Research Interests
My research interests are in the philosophy of science, particularly the philosophy of biology and the philosophy of medicine. I have recently completed a book on the philosophy of biological fitness (with Samir Okasha). I am currently working on some paper projects in the philosophy of aging. My work has been supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (UK), the British Academy, and the Austrian Science Fund among others.
