Dr. Camelia Nadia Bran is a dedicated educator and researcher with extensive experience in the field of education. She is currently a full-time, permanent Lecturer in Education at University College Cork. Previously, she managed the New Avenues to Teaching project, which aimed to diversify the teaching profession in Ireland.
Dr. Bran has a strong background in teaching, research, and project management, having held an Associate Professor position at “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, Romania. She has also worked as a researcher and evaluator for European and national agencies, and as a trainer for NGOs, school inspectorates, and non-profit organisations.
Her research interests include teacher education, inclusive education, higher education pedagogy, and non-formal education. Dr. Bran has been involved in numerous international educational projects and has published extensively in her field. She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences from “Babeş-Bolyai” University, Cluj-Napoca, and has completed various training programmes to enhance her professional skills.
Dr. Bran is a member of several professional organisations, including the Association for Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE), the Educational Studies Association of Ireland, and the Romanian Association for Research in Education. She has received multiple awards for her contributions to education, including the 2023Frank McGrath Perpetual Award for Wellbeing and Welfare.
My research interests are developed around the following main topics: T
Topic 1: Diversity in the Teaching Profession in Ireland; Exploring Strategies for Creating Inclusive Learning Environments that Celebrate Diversity and Promote Social Cohesion.
Topic 2: Examining the role of education in promoting social change, inclusivity, and ethical decision-making in the face of global challenges.
Topic 3: Highlighting the relationship between non-formal education and inclusion of children with Special Education needs
Topic 4: Investigating Wellbeing: Exploring its Influence on Student-Teachers
Topic 5. Unravelling the relationship between metacognitive regulation and the learning approaches
