Biography

Dr Christie Godsmark is a Lecturer in the School of Public Health and Academic Director of the MSc in Occupational Health (online) programme. Christie is affiliated with the Environmental Research Institute at University College Cork (UCC). Christie's PhD was in human thermoregulation in an extreme hot-dry environment. At UCC, Christie lectures on the MSc in Occupational Health programme (https://www.ucc.ie/en/ckx50/) and within this programme Christie developed a 5-credit module on Environmental Health, which is available as a CPD (https://www.ucc.ie/en/eh6140/). Christie has a research interest in climate change and human health. She is passionate about environmental health and the Sustainable Development Goals, and advocates for climate action that provides co-benefits to the environment, human health and society. Christie is also active within the Irish Climate and Health Alliance as a School of Public Health representative. Twitter @CNGodsmark

Research Interests

Dr Christie Godsmark co-ordinated the CATCH project: Communication and Action through Tree-planting for Climate-health. The CATCH project received funding from Irish Research Council New Foundations. All are welcome to visit the project's website: https://www.ucc.ie/en/catch/
