Biography

Claire Curtin is a Special Care Dentist at Cork University Dental School & Hospital. She graduated from UCC in 2007 and after spending several years in hospital and general practice posts, she embarked on three years full time specialist training in Special Care Dentistry in Wales. She is a registered Specialist in Special Care Dentistry with the GDC in the UK since 2017 and having held a Consultant/Honorary Senior Lecturer in Special Care Dentistry role in Cardiff University Dental Hospital, she returned to Ireland in 2021. She now works in both the Cork HSE Community Dental Service and Cork University Dental School and Hospital. Claire is a committee member of the Irish Society of Disability and oral health and on the Board of the Tricollegiate Membership Exam in Special Care Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Claire is completing her PhD in the area of oral care for patients post stroke with dysphagia at University College Cork.
