Biography
Dr David Wall is a Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in the School of Engineering and Architecture at University College Cork (UCC) and a Funded Investigator in Research Ireland’s MaREI Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine. David’s research investigates the role of biogas in circular economy, energy and environmental systems where he has published over 60 peer reviewed journal papers (h-index =32). He has received over €4M in research grant funding to date. David is an Irish delegate for the International Energy Agency (IEA) Bioenergy Task 37 on Biogas.

The role of biogas systems in the circular bioeconomy

Development of cascading biorefineries in agriculture
CO2 and digestate valorisation
Decarbonisation of heavy transport through the production of advanced fuels
Provision of active transport modes to enhance commuter sustainability
Transport planning and the design of road infrastructure to improve modal accessibility
