Biography

Edward Shinnick is a Professor in the Department of Economics in the Cork University Business School. He received his BA degree (Economics and Mathematics) and Master’s degree (Economics) from University College Cork, and his Ph.D. from the University of Strathclyde in 1999. His research areas include competition in markets & industries, SME finance, Innovation collobration, economics and business regulation and business strategy, where he has published in a wide range of national and international journals, book chapters and edited book volumes. Most recent publications cover the area of SME finance and university-industry collobrations. Professor Shinnick has undertaken economic consultancy work for industry, has served on the Board of the National Consumer Agency (NCA) where he was also Chair of the NCA’s Audit Committee, has been an external international reviewer for the Czech Science Foundation, serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Public Policy and the International Economics and Economic Policy.
