Biography
Dr Fábio Silva is a senior researcher with the International Energy Research Centre (IERC), at the Tyndall National Institute, in October 2020, and contributes to the projects of the Energy Informatics Group (EIG). His role involves research in various areas, including building energy management and modelling, energy system integration, and energy poverty, as well as contributing to the development of exploitation policies, business models, and project funding proposals.
Fábio holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, an International Executive MBA in E-business (conducted in partnership with Ohio University, USA), a postgraduate in Software Engineering, and a Professional Master’s in Management and Technology in Production Systems. Fábio also holds a PhD from the School of Electronic Engineering at Dublin City University, in Ireland, and is a Senior IEEE member.
Dr Fábio Silva has extensive professional experience as a consultant and entrepreneur, having participated in five startup companies, and serving as a co-founder in two of them. He pioneered the application of multimedia and touch-screen technologies, leading the development of hardware, software, and costumer services. Subsequently, Fábio has worked in startup companies spanning various industries, including logistics, e-commerce, system integration, EDI solutions, fintech, critical transactional systems, and credit cards.
