Biography

Frances Judge is a Lecturer in Energy Engineering in the School of Engineering in UCC and a member of the Offshore Renewable Energy Research Group located in the Research Ireland MaREI Centre in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. Frances has a BE in Civil Engineering from University College Cork, an MSc in Meteorology from University College Dublin, a PhD in Coastal Engineering from the University of Edinburgh and a PG Cert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from UCC. She also spent several years working as a consulting engineer in Ireland and New Zealand. She was awarded the title of Chartered Engineer in 2012.

Frances is the programme coordinator for two postgraduate programmes in the School of Engineering: the MEngSc in Sustainable Energy and the Postgraduate Certificate in Offshore Renewable Energy. She is also Chair of the School of Engineering Outreach Committee.

Research Interests

Offshore renewable energy development; offshore renewable energy logistics; financial analysis of offshore energy farms; coastal engineering, numerical wave basin development; offshore renewable energy device testing.
