Geraldine Boylan is Professor of Neonatal Physiology at University College Cork and Director of the INFANT Research Centre and UCC Futures Children.
Geraldine Boylan is a neonatal neurophysiologist and leads an internationally recognised multidisciplinary team focused on neurological monitoring in newborn infants, particularly for seizure detection and the early diagnosis of brain injury. Her research has championed the use of signal processing and artificial intelligence to identify infants at risk of brain injury, helping translate research innovations into tools that benefit newborns at the cotside. She is co-founder of UCC Spinout company CergenX Ltd. She was elected a Member of the Royal Irish Academy in 2022 and is also a member of UCC’s Governing Authority.
