Biography
Jack was appointed Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmacy, UCC in 2026. He is a pharmacist and graduate of the UCC MPharm programme. He completed his PhD in Pharmaceutics at UCC, with a thesis entitled “Advancing Data-Driven and Mechanistic Modelling for Oral Drug Product Development.”
He received an Irish Research Council scholarship to pursue his doctorate and was awarded the Jane Grimson Medal of Excellence as the highest-ranked postgraduate researcher in the sciences. In 2024, he received a Fulbright Scholarship to undertake research at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, which hosts a number of FDA-supported research centres. He has also successfully secured access to European high-performance computing resources to support his research.
Jack has experience across hospital, community and industrial pharmacy, including at St Stephen’s Hospital, the Mercy University Hospital and Pfizer. He continues to practise as a locum pharmacist.
