Dr Jamie O'Neill is a Lecturer in Accounting for Sustainable Corporations and a Programme Co-Director of the BSc Accounting. Jamie has many years of teaching experience in Irish and UK universities. As a Chartered Accountant, Jamie has extensive links with the accounting profession.

Jamie's reserach is focused on inequality, accountability and sustainability issues that arise from accounting and corporate reporting. Specifically, he researches accountability and inequality problems related to corporate and government insolvency. His reserach is also focused on the links between stakeholder engagement, democracy and accountability. 

Jamie's research has been presented at international conferences such as the Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Accounting Conference and the Academcy of Management Conference. His work has been published in top international journals such as Accounting Forum. 

Qualifications

Non-financial reporting - sustainability disclosure; Sustainability reporting credibility; corporate transparency and accountability; corporate and public sector insolvency; critical accounting; stakeholder engagement and accounting 

Jamie teaches management and financial accounting. He currently co-ordinates four modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels:

• Financial Accounting Fundamentals
• Intermediate Accounting 1 / Accounting in Business
• Research and Placement Report
• Advanced Managerial Accounting

He also supervises taught postgraduate student accounting and finance projects.

He has regularly contributed to business sustainability modules as a guest lecturer.
