Biography
Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Ireland based in the Office of Sustainability and Climate Action, University College Cork. He also led the co-creation a pan-disciplinary SDG Toolkit for Teaching and Learning and conducts associated professional development workshops to support academic staff globally. Dr Barimo is an integrative ecologist who guides student learning across the 4 colleges of UCC including Walking the Anthropocene:Walking as Critical pedagogy. He is also an associate member of the Environmental Research Institute.
John holds a Ph.D. from the University of Miami in Marine Biology & Fisheries and M.Sc. from Virginia Commonwealth University in Biology. His professional career spans academics, governmental agencies, nongovernmental organizations and the private sector. He has also gained considerable experience working to provide educational opportunities within under served communities and is an advocate of multicultural dialogue.
