Biography

Dr. John Eakins is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics in Cork University Business School. He is also a Principal Investigator within the Sustainability Institute in UCC and have been a PI and CO-PI on several EPA and SEAI funded research projects. His main research interests lie in the areas of environmental, energy economics and sports economics. His research has been published widely in journals such as Energy Policy, Energy Research and Social Science, the Energy Journal and the Journal of Sports Economics. He has presented his research at several national and international conferences and is a former member of IEA Users TCP taskforce SLA2.0 on the social license to automate. John is Chair of the Graduate Studies Committee within the Department of Economics and a member of the Academic Council Graduate Studies Committee.
