My areas of research can be broadly categorised as follows: 1) Particle and Powder Technology: Dairy / food powder technology; Powder flowability & caking; Powder rehydration; Particle breakage; Dry powder mixing; Crystallisation. 2) Sustainability, Environment & Energy: Life cycle assessment / carbon footprinting; Ecological limits; Forest wood energy; Superheated steam drying; Energy & oxygen transfer. 3) Bioprocess Engineering: Bioreactor engineering; Protein separations. 4) Scholarship of Teaching & Learning: Sustainability & engineering education; Programme learning outcomes.
