Biography
An Experienced Engineering Executive Professional in the Semiconductor Industry. With +30 years’ experience working in the global semiconductor industry, John has held various roles in Semiconductor product R&D, engineering management, marketing and business management. He has served as Design Engineer, Engineering Manager, Technical Marketing Director and Product Line Director in a major US multinational technology company.
John is the Exec Director of Microelectronics Circuit Centre Ireland ( MCCI) a National IC design research technology centre hosted at Tyndall National Institute within UCC.
John has spent his career defining and developing leading edge products in the Semiconductor Industry which serve key global markets such as Wireless Communications, Automotive Safety electronics, and Industrial & Instrumentation. He has managed large multi-site engineering development teams located in Europe and USA and has proven adaptability to cultural nuances. John also has 10 years’ experience leading product marketing/application teams with direct international customer facing experience leading to his most senior role with full business responsibility for a particular RF Product Line.
During his career, John developed a passion for people and strong team-work development, and the need for collaborative etiquette across many engineering disciplines. He has learnt that any achievement, even in technology industries, requires the ingenuity, collaboration and action of people. John has exceptional stakeholder management capabilities and communication skills to serve Corp management and Snr customer executives alike.
He has strong strategic thinking skills in defining new product /technology roadmaps, market positioning and defining go to market strategies with ample experience in digital marketing for new product launch.
John has direct experience in small/medium Mergers and Acquisitions and has been involved in the integration organizational transformations due to these M&A's.
