Biography

Julie has been working in UCC's Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation since 2022. That year, she led on an institution-wide project to map UCC's research onto the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Since 2023, in the role of Research Systems and Reporting Officer, Julie has been the research-lead on UCC's rollout of a new research information system, which launched to the research community in November 2025.

Prior to UCC, Julie worked in Corporate Affairs in Gas Networks Ireland and for seven years in the House of Commons and Dáil Éireann as a parliamentary researcher for various politicians.

Julie holds a BCL from UCC, which she completed as an evening degree whilst working in Gas Networks Ireland, along with a BA (English and History) from UCC, and an MPhil in Modern Irish History from Trinity College Dublin.
