Biography
Julie is Research Systems and Reporting Officer in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. She has a central role in the development and implementation of UCC's new Pure research information system, a major strategic institutional objective. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of the system, including providing training to UCC's research community, creating training materials and managing system data quality. Julie also plays a key role in maximising the impact of research metrics in institutional strategic planning and reporting on UCC's key research collaborations.
In 2022, Julie led on an institution-wide project to map UCC's research onto the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, developing a bespoke SDGs workshop to raise awareness amongst UCC's research community and delivering that workshop to 30+ Schools and Research Centres.
Prior to UCC, Julie worked in Corporate Affairs in Gas Networks Ireland and for seven years in the House of Commons and Dáil Éireann as a parliamentary researcher.
Julie holds a BCL (Law) and a BA (English and History) from UCC, and an MPhil in Modern Irish History from Trinity College Dublin.
