Rugadh agus tógadh Katie Ní Loingsigh i mBaile Mhúirne i nGaeltacht Mhúscraí. Tá BCL (Dlí agus Gaeilge), MA agus PhD aici i réimsí éagsúla de Léann na Gaeilge. Bhain a taighde PhD le cnuasach nathanna cainte as saothar an Athar Peadar Ua Laoghaire a rangú i mbunachar sonraí (Bailiúchán Nathanna an Athar Peadar). Dhein sí Ard-Dioplóma sa Dlítheangeolaíocht agus san Aistriúchán Dlíthiúil i gCumann Onórach Óstaí an Rí (2012-2013). Bhain a taighde iardhoctúireachta (2016-2017) le Corpas na Gaeilge Comhaimseartha a chruthú agus a fhorbairt.

Bhí sí ina ball de ghrúpa taighde Gaois in Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge, DCU agus chaith sí tréimhse ag obair mar Eagarthóir Taighde ar thionscadail éagsúla sna daonnachtaí digiteacha - dúchas.ie, téarma.ie, ainm.ie agus iate.europa.eu (bunachar téarmaíochta an Aontais Eorpaigh). Le linn na tréimhse céanna, ceapadh í ina Comhordaitheoir Tionscadail ar Logainm.ie, Bunachar Logainmneacha na hÉireann (2017-2018). Chaith sí seal ag obair in Ard-Stiúrthóireacht an Aistriúcháin, An Coimisiún Eorpach sa Bhruiséil agus ag teagasc na Gaeilge in Ollscoil Montana. Dhein sí intéirneacht i gCúirt Fheidearálach Dhúiche Montana in Missoula, Montana sa bhliain 2008. Tá sealanna caite aici ag teagasc agus ag léachtóireacht i Roinn na Gaeilge, Ollscoil na Gaillimhe; Coláiste San Aingeal, Sligeach; Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge, Ollscoil Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath; Cumann Dlí na hÉireann agus i gColáiste na hÉireann/Gaelchultúr. Katie Ní Loingsigh hails from Baile Mhúirne in the Muskerry Gaeltacht. She holds a BCL (Law and Irish), MA and PhD; her research focuses on various aspects of Irish-language literature, culture and linguistics. Her PhD research involved the collection and classification of idioms from An tAthair Peadar Ua Laoghaire/Fr. Peter O’Leary's published work in a digital database (Peadar Ó Laoghaire Idiom Collection). She completed an Advanced Diploma in Lawyer-Linguistics and Legal Translation in The Honorable Society of Kings Inns (2012-2013). Her postdoctoral research involved the creation and development of The Corpus of Contemporary Irish (2016-2017). 

She was a member of the Gaois research group in Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge, DCU and worked as a Research Editor on various digital humanities projects - dúchas.ie, téarma.ie, ainm.ie and iate.europa.eu (European Union’s terminology database). During this period, she was appointed Project Coordinator of the Placenames Database of Ireland, Logainm.ie (2017-2018). She has spent time working in the European Commission (Directorate-General for Translation) in Brussels, and teaching Irish in the University of Montana. She undertook an internship in the Montana Federal District Court in Missoula, Montana in 2008. She has taught and lectured in the Department of Irish, University of Galway; St. Angela’s College, Sligo; Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge, DCU; The Law Society of Ireland and in Coláiste na hÉireann/Gaelchultúr. She is currently co-editor of TEANGA, the Journal of the Irish Association for Applied Linguistics.

Nualitríocht, an litríocht agus an dlí, athbheochan na Gaeilge, oidhreacht agus cultúr Mhúscraí, cúrsaí frásaíochta agus foclóireachta, an teangeolaíocht chorpais agus na daonnachtaí digiteacha.
