Deputy Director UCC AI Futures. Insight Centre for Data Analytics: PI, Deputy Director of Insight@UCC, 2013- now. CTVR, the telecommunications research centre: UCC PI and member of national executive committee, 2006-2013. Enable: smart cities and communities, UCC PI and member of national executive committee, 2018-2023.

Research Interests

Artificial Intelligence, decision support, human-centric computing, constraint programming, optimisation, and distributed reasoning. Applications in wireless networking, sensor networking, and dynamic resource management.

Teaching Activities

Algorithms and Data Structures I, to 2nd year Computer Science Students. Examples using Python.  Algorithms and Data Structures II, to 2nd year Computer Science Students. Examples using Python. Constraint programming and Optimisation, as a final year option. Covers fundamentals of constraint satisfaction, constraint modeling, underlying algorithms, and alternative techniques. pPactical exercises in Choco.
