Laura Lee

I am CIRTL’s Learning Enhancement Project Manager. As a Third Space Professional, I integrate management, administration, teaching, and research responsibilities to advance UCC’s strategic ambitions.

I hold institutional responsibility for the oversight and management of Learning & Teaching (L&T) Enhancement funding (SATLE) allocated annually by the Higher Education Authority (HEA). This recurring portfolio totals €2.9 million to date. I demonstrate institutional awareness by spearheading initiatives aligned with institutional goals and national strategies. I have utilised SATLE funds to implement major cross institutional initiatives on Academic Integrity, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), and Digital Education. I also designed and implement an open call structure to distribute funding to UCC staff who support student learning.

I have a strong track record in supporting colleagues to recognise, evidence, and articulate L&T impact. I provided comprehensive support to colleagues who have secured highly competitive National Forum Disciplinary Excellence (DELTA) awards, the SATLE Impact Award, and a national Teaching and Learning Research Fellowship.

I am a key driver of UCC’s commitment to embedding Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in its activities. I lead professional development in UDL and Inclusive Assessment (IA) and contribute specialist expertise via internal/external steering committees.

I support UCC’s strategic ambition for excellence in research ethics through extensive committee work, resource and project development, and training.

I strengthen global engagement via participation in Erasmus projects and have managed €400,000+ Erasmus budget. On behalf of the UCC UNIC secretariat, I manage the Virtual and International Educational Projects fund enabling internationalisation within UCC curricula.
