Biography

Dr Margaret Bermingham is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy Practice in the School of Pharmacy, University College Cork. She holds a BSc(Pharm) (Hons), is a registered pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, and completed her PhD in Medicine with research into the pharmaceutical care of people with asymptomatic and symptomatic heart failure. Margaret has previously worked as a hospital pharmacist, community pharmacist, research pharmacist. Margaret’s research experience spans primary care, hospital, and long-term care settings and focuses on pharmaceutical care and medicines optimisation for people with chronic diseases. Other research interests include factors affecting patient acceptability of medicines, medication safety, pharmacovigilance, and biosimilar medicines.
