Biography

Dr Margaret Lantry is University Curator, based in the Heritage Services unit of Buildings and Estates. Margaret studied at UCC (BA 1985, MA (Research) 1989 and PhD (History) 2023) and the University of Sheffield (MA 1990). She was Senior Research Associate at the Faculty of History, University of Cambridge, from 1990-1996, and Managing Editor of CURIA and CELT (1996-1998). She is a member of The Heritage Council of Ireland's Museum and Art Galleries Strategy Working Group.

Research Interests

Her current research focusses on the history of Queen's/University College Cork (its collections, buildings and alumni). Arising from her doctoral research, she is preparing a history of the book in Cork city since the eighteenth century.
