Biography
Mercedes Gil-Lespinard holds a PhD in Food and Nutrition and an MSc in Nutrition and Metabolism, from University of Barcelona. She has worked in nutrition epidemiology across academic research and population health projects.
Her research has focused on dietary patterns and bioactive compounds in relation to obesity and cancer risk. She has led and contributed to systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical trial, and epidemiological studies using large cohort datasets.
In parallel, she has experience coordinating community-based interventions to promote more active and healthier cities, as well as in scientific communication for diverse audiences. Her broader interests include the translation of research into public health policy and practice.
