Research Interests

My research interests are related to musculoskeletal pain and pain neuroscience. I am also interested in how digital technologies such as Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality can support healthcare and rehabilitation. I have embarked on a PhD which consists of interlinked studies which will investigate the Role of Virtual Reality Interventions in the Management of Musculoskeletal Shoulder Pain. Virtual Reality is a novel technology that has the potential to provide non-pharmacological pain relief and remote healthcare delivery, which may provide a sustainable platform for rehabilitation of a myriad musculsokeletal and long-term conditions. As member of the Interprofessional Learning committee at University College Cork I am intersted in research to support the development of interprofessional education to support all students in the disciplines of medicine and health.

Teaching Interests

Current teaching resposibilities include:

Module co-ordinator Clinical Anatomy (PP6012)

Module co-ordinator Antatomy of Exercise (AN1063)

Final Year Research Project supervision AN6010 and PP6002

I am currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning at UCC to advance my knowledge and skills so that I can best support our Third Level students.
