Biography

I warmly welcome all inquiries, especially from current or prospective students at any level, other researchers, the media and members of the public.

Research Interests

My research focuses on 'political technologies' across the following four principal areas:

  • Modern and contemporary French philosophy, theory and literature, in particular the work of Jacques Rancière;
  • The psychedelic humanities;
  • Queer theory: Hatred of Sex (2022), co-authored with Tim Dean, argues that our society is organised around an aversion to the disordering effects of sex;
  • Policing the digital: conspiracy theory and the politics of the mis/disinformation agenda.
