Dr. Peter Cleary is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting. He has been lecturing in UCC in the area of Management Accounting since 2002 and worked for organisations in both Ireland and the USA prior to becoming an academic. Dr. Cleary's research has been published in a range of international journals such as the British Accounting Review, Qualitative Research in Accounting & Management, the Journal of Intellectual Capital, the International Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Performance Evaluation and the Journal of Human Resource Costing and Accounting. He has also presented papers at a range of both national and international conferences. Dr. Cleary is currently the Academic Co-Director of the Master of Accounting (MAcc) Degree Programme.

Qualifications

Dr. Peter Cleary's primary research areas of interest are in Management Accounting, Sustainability and Accounting History. He is currently involved in a number of research projects, including: the use of voluntary reporting in the credit union sector, the use of financial information in collective bargaining, accounting for rates in local government, the perceptions of professional service firms towards the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and an examination of the economic and social value of community organisations to inform sustainable funding models.
