Personal profile

Biography

I am an experimental physicist and Research Fellow at Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork, with 15+ years of international R&D experience in magnetic materials, magnetoresistive sensors, flexible magnetoelectronic, low-noise instrumentation, MEMS-compatible fabrication, and integrated magnetic devices. I was awarded an MSCA Standard Postdoctoral Fellowship as PI for flexible magnetic sensors for portable magnetomyography (€189.6k), and I currently lead the IEEE P3599 Working Group on Planar-Hall Sensor Standardization. My research combines thin-film deposition, magnetic sensor physics, device fabrication, low-frequency noise analysis, and translational sensing applications.

Current research areas: My current research areas include magnetic materials, thin-film engineering, planar Hall and magnetoresistive sensors, flexible magnetoelectronics, biomagnetic sensing, low-noise instrumentation, noise analysis, piezoMEMS-compatible device fabrication, and integrated magnetic devices.

At Tyndall, I am particularly focused on magnetic inductors, CZT/CZTB and FeCo-based soft-magnetic films, sputtering process development, anisotropy engineering, wafer-level fabrication, and integrated power magnetics.
