Research Interests

My research focusses on understanding how bacterial and fungal pathogen sense and adapt to infection environments, with a view to developing novel thereupetics which inhibit this process. I am currently researching the pathobiont Staphylococcus aureus, where the ability of this oppurtunistic pathogen to colonise humans asymptomatically adds further complexity to host-environment adaptation. To understand this, I use a combination of molecular biology, biochemistry, host-pathogen/ microbiome-pathogen interactions, and genomics.

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Massey as part of APC and the School of Microbiology
