Sara Helin Long

Dr. Sara Helin-Long completed her doctoral research, focusing on Patricio Guzmán’s recent film trilogy—Nostalgia de la luz (2010), El botón de nácar (2015), and La cordillera de los sueños (2020)—and the relationship between landscapes, bodies, and memory.  She completed her PhD at University College Cork, funded by the Irish Research Council and the Department of Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American Studies. Her current research is focused on cultural representations and responses to ecocide and genocide in Guatemala. She is a lecturer at University College Cork.
