Biography

Dr. Shaoming Zhu is a legal scholar and currently a lecturer at University College Cork School of Law. Prior to joining UCC, Dr. Zhu received her Doctor of Juridical Science from Penn State University Dickinson School of Law and worked at Tsinghua University School of Public Policy and Management as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. She is an advocate of inclusive global governance and the founder and President of the Foundation for Law and International Affairs. Dr. Zhu’s work advocates for empowering individuals’ rights and well-being in global governance and for implementing inclusive decision-making mechanisms across diverse, transcultural, and multi-identity contexts. Her publications, including books, journal articles, blogs, and funded research projects, focus on law as a communication mechanism, international negotiation theory, NGO and charity law, individual well-being and individual rights, among other related topics. She has been granted more than 50 awards for her academic and social work in China, the US, and Ireland. Her creative portfolio can be found at shaomingzhu.com.

Dr. Shaoming Zhu’s research interests include Conflict of Laws, ADR and Negotiation Theory, Governance Theory, NGOs and Charity Law, and Legisprudence.
