Biography

Dr. Siobhán Lucey received her PhD(Economics) from the University of Glasgow. She is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and an Erasmus+ DELTA scholar. She is an alumnus of the Advance HE Aurora programme for female leaders and a winner of the Network Ireland Cork "Employee Shining Star" award. She is an experienced academic in Economics, having previously worked at the University of Stirling and has held visiting fellow/scholar positions at the University of Edinburgh, University of St. Andrews, University of Dundee, University of Strathclyde and Boston College; she currently holds a visiting fellowship at the Australian National University (Siobhán Lucey | The Global Institute for Women's Leadership).

She is the Vice President and Businesswoman Awards Coordinator of the Network Ireland Cork Branch (Network Ireland Cork Branch) and the co-founder of and inaugural President of the University Women's Network (Mna@UCC - Women's Network | University College Cork (ucc.ie)) Her academic and research interests focus on various areas of applied econometrics including crime, education, health and DEI.  She is a founding member and co-Chair of the ISS21 Crime and Social Harm (CSH) research cluster at UCC.  

Research Interests

Dr. Lucey’s research applies contemporary econometric techniques to economic-social issues including crime, education, health and DEI.
