Biography

I am a lecturer of Science Education at University College Cork. I teach on our Bachelor of Education (Science) programme. Prior to this, I taught at second level for seven years where I taught Leaving Certificate Biology and Leaving Certificate Computer Science through the medium of the Irish language. Research Interests

My research interests are in curriculum and assessment reform, the implications of generative AI in coursework assessment and the interaction of Science, Technology and Society.

Teaching Activities

I teach on the following modules across the Undergraduate Bachelor of Education (Science Education) and the Professional Master of Education (PME): ED2101 ED2103 ED4101 ED4102 ED6325 School Visits: Each of our teachers on the BEd (Sc) receive two school practicum visits where I observe their work and provide feedback on their work. These are tremendous formative teaching and learning experiences. I currently undertake 30 school visits during the academic year.
