Biography
Trish qualified in 2006 from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physiotherapy. She then worked clinically for 13 years in both the acute and primary care settings in Neurological Rehabilitation. In 2016, she led the design and implementation of the Neuro Functional Training Gym based in LeisureWorld in Bishopstown. In 2018, she assumed the role of practice tutor in the MSc Physiotherapy programme in University College Cork (UCC). In 2025, she was appointed lecturer in Neurological Physiotherapy in UCC.
Research Interests:
Trish’s research focuses on dementia education and training for physiotherapists, dementia rehabilitation, and interprofessional learning. She has contributed extensively to research exploring how healthcare professionals can be better prepared to support people living with dementia, with a particular interest in physiotherapy education. She is actively involved in teaching, research, and professional development initiatives aimed at improving dementia care across healthcare setting. She chairs the dementia interprofessional learning steering committee and is a member of the interprofessional learning college committee.
