Biography
Dr Wang joined Cork University Business School from Essex Business School, University of Essex, where he was Assistant Professor of Finance. He completed his PhD in Finance at the University of Glasgow, holds an MSc in Statistics from Columbia University, and a BSc in Applied Mathematics from Hunan University, China. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Advance HE, UK.
His research spans corporate finance, banking, sustainability, innovation, and corporate governance. His work has been presented at major international conferences including the FMA Applied Finance Conference, FMA Annual Meeting, EFMA, AsianFA, and the FINEST Workshop.
At CUBS, Dr Wang teaches corporate finance and postgraduate finance modules and serves as Director of the MSc Finance (Investment & Asset Management) programme. He has also contributed to university-level curriculum development through his role on the working group for the BSc Sustainability programme. Internationally, he has been invited annually since 2023 to deliver guest lectures and research seminars at Southeast University (Project 985) in China. He previously gained industry experience in alternative investments during his graduate studies in New York.
