‘Best Application of AI in an Academic Research Body’ award at the Annual AI Ireland Awards for a research collaboration between Tyndall (Dr John Barton and Dr Salvatore Tedesco) and researchers at CGR (Prof Suzanne Timmons and Lorna Kenny).

The winning project is developing a miniaturised wearable device with advanced machine learning algorithms for precise Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis and blood pressure estimation with the goal of improving assessment and treatment. CGR researchers performed the clinical testing of the prototype device with volunteers for the Cork branch of the Parkinson’s Association of Ireland.
