This IASSIDD award is given in recognition of the lifetime achievements of Prof. Vlaskamp (University of Groningen) in placing a focus on the voice and rights of persons with profound intellectual disabilities. This was awarded based on my PhD study: Reconciling Communication Repertoires: A Classic Grounded Theory of Navigating Interactions Involving Persons with Severe/Profound Intellectual Disability. I presented an oral paper titled "Classic Grounded Theory (CGT) as an approach to research involving people with severe/profound intellectual disability" at the IASSIDD 2019 World Congress in Glasgow.
