Dr. Ger McGlacken, Rachel Shanahan and the quinolone group who were awarded the ‘Purdy Lucey Invention of the Year (Life Science)’ at UCC.
The patented project involves a collaboration with Prof Fergal O’Gara and Dr Jerry Reen and includes the design of molecules to mimic and interrupt communication systems within bacteria and fungi communities.
