10.7Gbd DQPSK packet transmission using a widely tunable slotted Fabry-Pérot laser

Abstract

We examine the time resolved bit error rate of a 10.7Gbd DQPSK system using a fast switching slotted Fabry-Pérot transmitter. It is shown that error free transmission is possible within approximately 12 ns of a wavelength switching event.
