Abstract
Examines, with reference to a December 2017 report by the European Commission into the operation of the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform, the effectiveness of the ODR framework in engaging traders in Ireland and the UK. Reviews the growth of ODR, its benefits and challenges, the EU legal framework under Regulation 524/2013 and Directive 2013/11, and its different application in the two jurisdictions concerned.
