Abstract
To assess, review and document student knowledge, skills and competence by mapping the HSE Antimicrobial Resistance Infection Control (AMRIC) Competency Framework to a 10-credit online Level 9 Infection Prevention & Control Module. This will support the students to engage with putting evidence-based theory into clinical practice, and assist them in identifying a baseline from which to develop their professional core competencies during the lifetime of the module, and in their own clinical settings. This will further enhance how we as teachers improve teaching and learning and further integrate the 4 pillars of scholarship, and at the same time utilise a student reflective learning journal to support and evaluate our teaching.
To see the value of mapping a set of professional practice competencies to a module with the aim of reviewing, assessing and documenting their knowledge, skills and competence, as the students progress through the module as well as how they improve their professional and clinical practice.
