Acute stroke care: Are we getting the basics right?

Research output: Contribution to journalEditorial

Abstract

In summary, the relative unavailability of thrombolysis for acute stroke in a meaningful sense in Ireland and the U.K. and the disappointing results to date with the use of neuroprotective agents has again focused attention on the importance of maintaining normal physiological parameters and perhaps for the near future, getting the basics right may prove to be most beneficial for the acute stroke victim.
